Well, you can't really choose (like a menu or anything) but if you want to start the apple firmware you need to flick the hold switch when you power on your ipod.
hope that helps ;)

This shouldn't really be a problem however, because the 2g nano is not supported by rockbox, so rockbox does not work on it.

Correct, I want to mention something though:
I've seen people mention nano and say 1g 2g 4g etc. to signify the capacity. And then other times 1g and 2g to mean 1st and 2nd Generation. This really confuses me.

Our posting guidelines address this issue.

2g means "second generation."

2gb means "two gigabyte."

Not to be pedantic, but...

"GB" is the abbreviation for Gigabyte
"Gb" is the abbreviation for Gigabit

I'm not sure what "gb" means..

A good point, but as Llorean has currently written that section of the posting guidelines, they are not case sensitive.  They only require making a distinction between "generation" and "gigabyte."  For the purposes of the forum, I'm not sure that any further distinction is necessary.

(*the guidelines are in a post by me, but Llorean added that section)

Someone mentioned the 'right way' to me, and I decided I agree. If we're going to have requirements of how things are typed, we may as well have explicitly correct ones.

GB it is, not gb or Gb.
