gigabeat shuts down when pressing up or down on touchpad

(1/1)

hsyed26:
hello,

hardware: toshiba gigabeat f40 (20gb model)

problem: when scrolling up or down using the touchpad when looking through music folder, the player shuts down completely.

bootloader and rockbox are most current version. didn't have this problem before until about 3 days ago.

rockbox version = 12343-070217

any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

hsyed26

ps. rockbox is the best thing i've ever seen for crappy drm crippled proprietary software on mp3 players. keep up the good work.

markun:
Wow, that sounds pretty serious.

Does it not happen when you scroll up and down with the remote control?
Can you try to reset the rettings and check if it still happens?
Did you compile the bootloader yourself?

hsyed26:
hey,

fixed the problem. apparently bootloaders are sensitive to the month and gigabeat system folder they are packaged with. i was trying to run a january bootloader with a february gigabeat system folder. the two were crashing in terms of config files and driver settings. uploaded the new february build and things are back to normal.

thanks for the quick reply.

keep up the good work. looking forward to the video support.

with best regards,

hsyed26
