save settings
« on: February 23, 2007, 12:54:03 AM »
this might be a dumb question, but is there a way i can save the appearance of rockbox (background, font, wps, etc.) so that i can load it without having to select the settings each time i load rockbox?

go to main menu->manage settings->Write .cfg file
this takes you to the keypad, just press play (if you're on an ipod) and rockbox saves your .cfg as
config01.cfg in the .rockbox folder

to load it just go to menu->Browse .cfg files-> your config file

hope that helps ;)

Also, if you shut down (Or reboot, I can't remember which) it *should* save your settings so they show up correctly the next time it comes up.  On my iPod, I have sometimes had to do it twice for an unknown reason.

I think I am probably overlooking somthing or doing somthing wrong, but I wrote a cfg. file and it saved, but when I restart my iPod, my backdrop is gone and it is just a default black screen, The font size and everything else stays the same though. Any ideas? ???

Files > backdrops

In the same folder I have some backdrops that go to other themes... should I move the file I want as the backdrop somewhere else?

backdrop must be in /.rockbox/backdrops

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

And to load you configuration, just "play" your cfg file.
