Well it just works in kind of a silly way if you think about it.  If any plugin needed extras they should go in /Rockbox/PluginName/ folder.  Exactly like doom works.  Then the list could simply be games or mpegs or whatever is inside that designated folder. I hate switching from database to all files just to see my 3 games inside my Roms folder.

As Llorean said, I don't want to put my Roms in /.rockbox as then I have to change file view from supported to all every time I want to use one.  I want to put my files in the directory structure I want, and to me it makes perfect sense, even if to you it doesn't.

Just as a note: With the Root Menu patch, Switching between Database and File View (which just needs to be Supported, not All Files, for Roms to show up assuming they're not in hidden folders) becomes even less of the hassle than the quick change in the quickmenu it already is, for those who find that simple step too tasking. ;)

Yep, I meant that if Roms are put in /.rockbox I need to change from supported (which I use to get to music) to all as otherwise you can't see /.rockbox, which is where the previous poster suggested putting them.

I think the previous user was suggesting putting them there and then having Rockboy be a normal plugin, with an "Open" option, that then showed you a list of the roms hidden in your /.rockbox/Games/Rockboy folder. Not that bad, all things considered, but still consderably less flexible overall than the simple viewer setup.

Yep, my bad I ought to learn to read!  I agree with you that I still prefer to be able to select them however from wherever and have rockboy as a viewer.
