Downloadable GNU Fonts?
(1/1)
Nate!:
I want to try out different fonts, sizes, and boldness other than what's offered with Rockbox. Â Is there a place to download GNU licensed fonts from a Windows environment? Â (If that matters.) Â With that can I convert those fonts using the tools outlined in the forums and wiki to be viewable in Rockbox?
Or, I just thought about it, is there somewhere I should look in the Debian image or Cygwin that has different GNU licensed fonts that I can extract?/convert?
Thanks in advanced.

Nate!:
Thanks Bascule: I had looked at Rasher's site before and saw that many of the fonts were copyrighted. If I had just scrolled through further, I would have seen the public domain fonts.
Thanks again.

I would highly recommend trying out Geoff's font converter. I personally have used that to convert some wonderful fonts for my own use (personal faves: Calibri & Corbel).
Nate!:
Bascule: Â Looking through all of the fonts on Rasher's site. Â I noticed that the Helvetica have copyright information beside them. Â Is the copy right expired and therefore available for public use? Â If not, how is this one of the included fonts in the fonts pack? Â Thanks for your help.

After further digging on Freedesktop.org, I saw a legal notice that states that the copyright holders allow for the fonts to have royalty-free use.
Ryran: Â I use an earlier batch file that was posted somewhere on thsi form. Â I think it is similiar if not the same one you pointed me too. Â I like the Bold Comic Sans font for personal use. Â I just wanted to test a few fonts out and upload with WPSs I create.
