two rockboxes...

(1/1)

pbcnx:
is it possible to use two rockboxes in a single player? i mean, i can switch from 1 build to another...

JdGordon:
yes and no....
there will be a file rockbox. in the root of your player. if you rename this you can have more than one (as long as one of them is named rockbox.. If the codec/plugins API changes between the versions on your player you will have problems with one of them tho. (just rename the rockbox part.. the extension is important).

To switch between the versions, just select the version you want in the file browser (the same way you would to start playing an mp3)

JdGordon:

Really?  I've switched between builds on my Nano before using rolo.  The last time I used it was about two weeks ago, though.

Llorean:
It has limited functionality on the iPods. On the targets where it 'works', it'll let you basically switch between any two builds (though plugins/codecs may not work if the APIs have changed) but on the iPod I believe the builds have to be from the same SVN revision, or match some conditions I can't remember.
