Installing Themes -- Please Help

(1/2) > >>

ivet:
I am new to rockbox, i have read the manual and i love all the wonderful themes offered and for the last 6 hours i have spent trying to install a theme onto my ipod video 30gb on my Windows Home computer. I have no idea what is wrong and I am asking for your help.

Okay, this is what I have so far:

I want to install this theme-
http://www.rockbox-themes.org/data/320x240x16/jBlackGlass.zip

I have extracted the file and placed it into the .rockbox-->themes folder. I have read that you should place it to the "root" of your ipods folder. But i dont understand what that means.

Am i doing this correctly? Or is there something else you need to do from besides just putting the extracted foler onto the theme folder. Maybe something else i need to download? I really would like to have that theme, but this problem is stopping me from doing so. Any help is greatly appreciated, thankyou!! ;)

Llorean:
Out of curiosity, what suggested to you that this was the right section of the forum for this question?

And, inside the theme there should be a wps folder, and a themes folder, and the files in these go in the same named folders in .rockbox

Well, "Apple - Installation/Removal" doesn't seem too far off to me. In fact, I can't find a more suitable section myself.

One could argue that "WPS and Customization" would be the correct section, but the description says "Theme design, and WPS related code", which to me implies discussion about writing your own themes and WPS code, not installing an existing theme.

Llorean:
Yes, but the "POSTING IN THIS FORUM" post explicity states that once Rockbox is booted, your question belongs somewhere else.

Getting themes working isn't really platform specific in any way. I was actually asking so I can make it more clear.

Is there something you think I should do to make it absolutely clear that questions not related to the install and uninstall process don't belong in the platform-specific areas?
