New here and I have a few questions
« on: February 14, 2007, 10:57:44 AM »
Hi, Rockbox looks absolutely amazing but I have a few questions.

1) Is this completely reversible if  I mess up in the middle or some where in between?

2) SO there isn a stable build for Ipod 30 gb? Which current build should I use?

Thanks in advance.

Edit With a couple a more questions...

3) I'm on step 2.2.3 I am having trouble with this step, like what is the installation folder and. So if anyone got a different way of explaining please do.

heres a pic

1.  Yes.

2.  There is only one current build.  When the new current build comes out, the prior build is no longer current.

The installation folder is whichever folder you created to download all the install files into.  The manual suggests C:\rockbox.  You can use any one you like however.

Looking at your command line, you have the slash backwards.  In Windows you need to type "cd \rockbox" to open C:\rockbox since the \ indicates that you want to open a folder in the root of your directory, while / indicates a directory in your current working directory (which in your case would mean you tried to open "C:\documents and settings\administrator\rockbox".

just put a folder or files in the root (rockbox/) and find it on the file tree to play it.

The root is not rockbox/ or anything like that.

The root is just the device. Not in any folders.

You can drag and drop your music wherever you'd like, and browse to it in the filetree.
