i've read the manual through and through, installed rockbox, loved it but then took it out 'cause i something went wrong (nothing big, but i got upset so i restored everything)

my question, is there a way of having both rockbox and apple firmwares on my iPod, being able to switch back and forth?

2nd question, i think this was explained in the manual, but i didnt understand so ill ask you. is there any way of listening to my songs that are on here already? i dont wanna retransfer everything.

Rock box is dual-boot by default on most targets (but with some issues on the iPod, I believe). Search the forums for more detail.

Check out the Database. It is explained quite clearly in the manual, but it is not so clear that that is the best way for iTunes users to manage their music. See also the link in my sig. :)

thank you for the help. i dont wanna continue using iTunes to transfer my music, but i would like to just listen to the music already on my iPod without having to transfer antyhing.

Then provided you can live without being able to use the File Browser (in any meaningful way) to navigate your old iTunes-transferred music, then Database is the way to go!

great, i don't know what happened but now rockbox wont install properly.

i've tried twice now, but this message appears

File not Found.


any ideas?

hahaha nvm, i just remembered about the rockbox.zip that i hadda put on my root of iPod. gosh im so dumb haha
