putting songs on rockbox 5th gen 30gb video

hi. im just new in rockbox, and im wondering what do you use to put music in your ipod?

1. use the iTunesdatabes to rockbox database converter? (found here: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/ConvertiTunesDBtoTagCache)

2. or did you delete all your music in ipod control hidden folder, and re-uploaded all your music again?

as for me now, im using the itunes to rockbox database converter. i still upload my files, edit ID3 tags in iTunes. then i just use the Database converter. but the thing is, everytime i edit my music files in itunes, i always need to to run the database converter which is kinda not user-friendly.

what is the best way to manage music in rockbox?

thanks..

GodEater:
Or option 3) Use Rockbox's own database - covered in the manual, section 4.2

duayne:
oh thanks for the fast reply!

ill look into the rockbox's database now..

thanks :)

so you're saying using the rockbox's database is the best way to manage music? are you using it?

GodEater:
Not personally no - my iPod doesn't currently run rockbox. But there are lots of very satisfied database users. *Looking in Bascule's direction*

duayne:
oh! that database!

actually, that is what im using right now...

i edit my tags and add music in itunes, then i use INITIALIZE NOW everytime there are changes..

but is it ok to use INITIALIZE NOW every now and then? it takes like 5 mins every initialization (and that is what i dont like) is there a way to just initialize only the new songs or the only ones that has been changed?

thanks..

EDIT!

oh, i get it now... what you are trying to say is to delete the itunes database/music files, then upload your own music in their respective directories, then USE the DATABASE.. am i correct?
