Wrong!
The problem is entirely with the new install instructions.
On top of that, it appears that the Manual has the proper instructions, but links you to the wrong (newer) tool, causing the problem as well.
Follow the instructions to restore your Apple boot partition, then follow the old directions in the Wiki, under IpodPort.
Note:
Make sure you don't use the instructions in IpodInstallationBeta if you have a 4G grey / mini.

thias:
You should use this (old) instruction to install bootloader onto your G4:

and note, that with the old bootloader, you have to press Menu instead of Hold, to boot into apple-firmware.

why:

--- Quote from: fugot on February 12, 2007, 08:40:57 PM ---all you have to do to install it on your ipod is extract the .zip file to the root of your ipod that you can find at this link below.

thanks a lot buddy   :)

leomartin6:
Thanks for the help. I'll see what i can get out from it.

I'm not sure what these last two posts are about but they seem to be taking something rather out of context.  This problem is resolved and no further discussion will help this topic.  Those wishing to install Rockbox should consult the manual.
