Rockbox on iPod 4G Color always crashes
PostMDMA:
Hi there. I update my Rockbox build every day to see if the latest build keeps my iPod from crashing after playing about 5 songs. But so far no luck. Are there settings I can tweak to at least minimize the crashing problem?

Llorean:
Use a build either with Frequency Scaling disabled, or with the Coprocessor patch applied, and crashes should be prevented.

I've gone through the entire build history for my player. I can't find any build which have the settings you mention. I'm not trying to foist my problems on someone else, but it would be nice if you knew which build I should be looking for. Any help is appreciated.

You'd have to compile your own build, or use an unsupported build
linuxstb:
This is a known bug on certain ipods (4G greyscale and Color, and 1st Generation mini), which causes random crashes when Rockbox attempts to change the speed of the CPU in your ipod (CPU frequency scaling).
The workarounds for the moment are to either disable CPU frequency scaling (which means modifying a configuration file and building your own version of Rockbox from source, or downloading such a build from someone else), or to apply the "COP" (co-processor) patch to the source and compile a build with that patch (it seems to help with the freezing).
Builds with both the COP patch applied, and CPU frequency scaling are available for download in the "Unsupported Builds" forum.
