Gigabeat F20: checking Properties of MP3 file while in Playlist Viewer

(1/2) > >>

Job Van Dam:
I tried this with two different files, same result:
I would check the Properties of an MP3 file while in the File Browser and no problem. It would show the properties.

When I went to the WPS Context Menu (where you hold Play for 2 seconds) and went into Playlist -> View Current Playlist. Went to a file and held the Play button for 2 seconds, choose File Options -> Properties the disk would spin then give me this error:
Data abort at 0048CE4
I then had to turn on/off the battery to restart the player.

If someone could try recreating just to see if it's not exclusive to my player. Only crap thing about this whole thing is when turning the battery on/off you have to reset the time and date. It even resumes the playlist.
Thank you.

I do not get any errors but the player locks up and a semi-hard reset is required (hold powerswitch 10-15 seconds).

I think you should
1; search and see if it's reported as a bug already
2; if not - report that as a bug.

:)

Nate!:
A bug report was created for this behavior a couple of weeks ago.  Flyspray#6577.

JdGordon:
fixed.

Nate!:
I must have been high when I reopened the bug report.  I tested it earlier today and received the data abort error.  I was going to post here stating that it wasn't fixed yet.  I tried it again right before posting and in fact, it is fixed.  :-[  Thanks.  I'll request the bug get re-closed.

**Edited ***
I see how I reproduced it.  (Maybe I wasn't high  ;) ) If you, at the WPS, hold down select and click playlist.  Then -> view playlist -> long select a song -> File Options -> Properties.  You receive the Data Abort at 0004A3A4

Now, why someone would go through all of that to see info on the file is beyond me.
