Cygwing Compiling..... arm-elf-gcc... ??
(1/1)
donjworks:
Hello,
Ive been trying for the past few hours to compile rockbox so as I can add some patches... Its all going hunkey-dorey, following the Simple Guide to Compiling, then It tells me that arm-elf-gcc cant be found... But I specifically rememeber installing it, because the 'Cygwing Developement' page told me to. I went back to the Cygwin Develepement page, and saw that I forgot step 4. I attempted to follow the instructions, but I could not find the file they were talking about (Nor it's containing folders).
Help?

PS- I am attempting to use the Rockboy2.patch patch... so we could avoid all this if someone could post the patched file ;D
Mad Cow:
If you're having trouble just use the debian version. All you have to do is download vmware player and the rockbox image. Then run it.

Step 4 tells you to add arm-elf-gcc to the path. If you couldn't find arm-elf-gcc, are you absolutely sure you've installed it?
donjworks:
Yup.... More than once too... each time it says it had it installed... So I re-installed it
donjworks:
OH!! I GOT IT!! I went back, re-installed everything again, and re-read the Cygwin Developement thingy... i missed the part about downloading the packages from the rockbox server! (http://download.rockbox.org/cygwin/) ;D It works....
THANKS!
