Rock doom help
« on: February 07, 2007, 04:39:31 AM »
I ve been using rockbox and i have been very pleased with it. however, when i had the urge to play doom, i put the rockdoom wad into .rockbox/doom folder. Then i added my Doom CE cd and copied the wads to the /doom folder. When i try to play it says missing base wad, Plugin returned with an error. I've searched the forum and try to see if there was a similar report but none has helped me

Im using a nano 2GB 1G

Did you even click on the link, because that screenie is the Rockbox manual, not the Wiki page. the Wiki page has clear instructions and links to appropriate .wad files.

Doom CE cd

This could be the problem, the .wad files need to come from doom versions supported by the Plugin; Doom CE may not be...

Doom CE is Collectors edition, it has all the wads from doom - final doom. Also the wiki page didnt help me at all. I have been reading the pdf and the wiki with no luck

What are the names of the .wad files you copied over from your CE Doom?

First off, just download the minimum files required (linked from the Wiki) and get the game actually working.

Then try and see what else works.

There have been loads of topics in the forum about what addons and other .wad files work or don't work.

Tell us exactly what you mean by 'didn't work'. Is there an error message? What are you doing, and what is happening?
