http://www.davechapman.f2s.com/rockbox/ipodpatcher-0.9-win32.zip

Note that this version of the bootloader (which if it works will be the next release) doesn't display any messages on the screen unless an error has occurred.

Just unzip it, and double-click on the extracted ipodpatcher.exe.  You'll be prompted if you want to install the bootloader.

Then boot with the hold switch turned on and let me know if the Apple firmware starts.  If so, also test with the latest Rockbox Current Build and let me know if audio playback is working.

Thanks.

EDIT: Here's a Mac OS X version - http://www.davechapman.f2s.com/rockbox/ipodpatcher-0.9-dmg
and Linux - http://www.davechapman.f2s.com/rockbox/ipodpatcher-0.9-linux32.zip

I have a 4G grayscale and this worked like a charm with the latest build. Rockbox and Original firmware load and music works just fine on rockbox. Finally crossfading tracks :D Great work dude!

Any ideas?

Now I installed the latest rockbox + ipodpatcher again... it works now. ???
Okay, the first time I made a mistake: I installed the ipodpatcher first and after that I copied rockbox. Could this be the problem?

linuxstb:
There seem to be general problems with entering USB mode at the moment - I always experience freezes if I try to enter USB mode when the disk is spinning.

This is unrelated to the bootloader/ipodpatcher issues of the past.
