How do I either...
« on: February 06, 2007, 05:07:51 PM »
I have an iPod 60GB video with firmware 1.2 (iTunes 7)

I would like to get iPodLinux and Rockbox back onto it.

But, I need to know how to either downgrade my firmware to 1.1 or work out how to get iPodLinux and/or Rockbox onto it.

I still have the rockbox files on my computer, just wondering whether there is an update for firmware 1.2 or not...

The current official installation instructions for Rockbox should work fine with 1.2.

sweet! I was just thinking because of how iPodLinux's installer does not work with 1.2 (unless that's changed) it might be the same with this...

The IPL installer needs the sysinfo file to determine what type of ipod you have. With the new firmware, there's no sysinfo file and therefore the IPL installer doesn't work. When installing Rockbox, you have to figure out yourself what ipod you have -> no sysinfo needed -> works with new firmware as well.
