5.5g "Installation Incomplete" 30gb Error

<< < (2/6) > >>

Mr530:
doesn't do anything to hold menu. When I went under setting manually and click "show all" it says "Save faild? No Partition"

How would I check to see if fat32 partition is primary, and would this affect linux?

Der Papst:
Have you used zacaj's awesome tutorial to install iPodLinux?

Mr530:
why yes, actually that's the one I used to install iboy and ipodlinux, but rockbox still doesn't work from either this site or his tutorial.

Der Papst:
I think that is because  the fdisk instructions in this (still awesome) tutorial are rubbish. Repartition your iPod as described here: http://www.ipodlinux.org/5.5G

Edit: Scratch that.. linuxstb just told me that RockBox mounts the first FAT partition it sees in the partition table.  And your FAT partition is primary too.
Nevermind then ;-)

And btw: I'm able to load RockBox with Loader2 on my 3G 40GB iPod.

Mr530:
so is it unfixable then...?

I feel like there is a lot of bashing between rockbox and ipodlinux, but I must say that the new iBoy is 10x better than rockboy.

However I want rockbox for my music, I love the customizable and fast UI.
