5.5g "Installation Incomplete" 30gb Error

(1/6) > >>

Mr530:
Hi everybody, I have a 5.5g ipod running apple OS and iPL, and I want to use rockbox through loader 2.5d6 (i think that's what it is), and the problem is I always get an installation incomplete error or no .rockbox directory. I have used rockbox many times even on this ipod, but just never with the loader2

I know its not supported, but it should be possible and it was such an incredible pain to install linux that I would rather use loader2 than the rockbox loader.

Any help is appreciated,
-Mr530

Llorean:
I've heard reports of this before, only with Loader2. This suggests that the problem lies with the fact that you're using Loader2, and may be a partitioning issue or something else.

linuxstb:
Both rockbox.ipod and the .rockbox folder need to be on your FAT32 partition.  The "installation incomplete" message means the .rockbox folder is missing.

Maybe you've put them on your Linux (ext2) partition, in which case it won't work.

Mr530:
well, I've put both in my fat32 partiton (the only one I can access while still in windows) and what happens is it boots and I get the installation incomplete error.

I really want to try some new wps i've made.

Llorean:
Is the Fat32 partition set as primary?

When Rockbox boots, after the error message, do you see your .rockbox folder? Hold Menu and make sure it's set to "All Files" not "Supported"
