I have a problem with a iPod. I've posted
here, but since it turned out to be out of the rockbox-based-problems, that wouldn't do; so I thought maybe someone here could help me.
My problem is as follows:
Whenever I connect this iPod (3rd Gen) to a PC, iTunes (7) pops up telling me:
iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. So I proceed by pressing politelly on the OK button, and then press "Restore". iTunes then prompts:
Are you sure you want to restore the iPod "iPod" to it's factory settings? All of your songs and other data will be erased. So, understandably, I click "Restore", and then it runs for a few minutes displaying:
Restorig "iPod".
After it finishes running like that, it displays:
Your iPod has been restored to factory settings. Please unplug the iPod and connect it to the external power supply to complete the restore process. So I disconnect, and plug it into the wall outlet, it runs for like half a minute, then it asks me to choose a language, and after selecting "English" everything seems fine, till... I connect again.
iTunes again tells me that it's found an iPod in recovery mode and... well, the rest you know by now. I'm trapped in this never-ending-cycle, and I see no way out. If anybody could help, I'll be greatly indebted to him.
