using custom EQ.. load EQ at start up?

Hello,
I am using iPod 5g and i use custom EQ.
However it seems tat i have to manually select my EQ  everytime when i boot rockbox.
Help!

i press n hold the play button until shutdown

yes... holding the play/pause until rockbox shuts down.

Which build of Rockbox are you using?

all builds that i've used seems to all have this problem...
could it be due to the fact i am using a line out to a amp?

Yes, but what is the most recent official build you've used. There was a problem regarding this, but it was fixed, and you may not have used a build new enough to not have this problem. Many people use outdated builds and don't realize their problem has been fixed, which is why I asked specifically which build you were using, rather than whether you'd tried multiple. The importance is on the revision number of the most recent official build.

If you're using a build from January in 2006, it's very, very outdated.

Are you sure that's not the version number from your bootloader?

yeah, sorry its the bootloader.
I tink it was a jan build. I've downloaded a unofficial build.

Download and test the latest official build before going any further.  Let us know whether you can replicate the problem with the official build.
