Transfers bigger than 2gb cause problems

I'm using a 4g grayscale ipod with a current build and when i transfer more than 2gb of songs (rough estimate) at a time, it says it can't copy anymore and i have to delete from the rockbox interface and try again. If I transfer a little at a time, i never have a problem. Is this a common problem?
