Patching... Cmd Prompt not recognizing 'patch' function.
(1/1)
donjworks:
Hello,
I was using the Simple Guide to Compiling (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SimpleGuideToCompiling) to help me with my patching needs. All was going well, until I tried to patch... I typed in the 'patch --binary -p0 < patchfilename' command, but Cmd Prompt wouldn't recognize the command...
Help?
Febs:
It's a Linux command. If you're in Windows, you need to be running cygwin, VMWare, etc.

Top of your link:
--- Quote --- What You Will Need
A complete Cygwin installation with the cross compilers needed for building Rockbox. See CygwinDevelopment for instructions.
If you don't like Cygwin and you want to avoid setting it, you can try the VMwareDevelopmentPlatform which contains all needed files, compressed in an emulated Debian Linux enviroment.

Follow those instructions, and you should be good to go.
