apple OS issue with 4g mini
« on: January 31, 2007, 06:37:15 PM »
i am putting rockbox on a friends ipod nano 2g 4gb. everything went fine but when i boot into original os it says loading originalfirmware then reboots and does this over and over again.
I dont know what to do and i dont feel like manually putting all the music on the ipod.

And why would you put rockbox on a 2G nano when you know that Rockbox doesn't work on it ? Or did you mean a Mini like your post title states ?

fretmelter, if you are referring to a mini then you should have used the old installation instructions which you can get to at the bottom of the IpodPort wiki page.  There is currently a notice at the top of the IpodInstallationBeta wiki page that says that the 4g (greyscale) and both generations of minis have problems booting the Apple firmware after following those directions.
