Kenwood head unit with IP 500 and ipod

Hi

I am looking to buy an ipod and Kenwood IP 500 adapter to connect it to my head unit in my car.

Can anyone advise if the Rockbox firmware works with the IP500? The head unit controls and charges the ipod and displays the song titles on the display.

I particularly like the sound of the voice prompts.

I can confirm that Rockbox 3.2 on the iPod 5g / 30gb does not fully work with the KCA-iP500. It charges and audio works, but all the controls on the head unit are dead. No song info is displayed on the head unit either. On the upside, the song info is still displayed on the iPod and the controls on the iPod still work. (Unlike the stock firmware that just shows the KENWOOD logo and stops listening to the iPod controls while connected to the KCA-iP500.)
