Corrupted iPod. Sudden Shutdown and battery drain
« on: January 29, 2007, 08:11:09 AM »
I was using my Nano 1st Gen, while it suddenly crashed and rebooted.
When it booted again, after i played the first song, it crashed. But this time, it couldnt boot.
So, i got to job, and plug it to my USB.
It started to charge the battery, and after 2 mins, i unplug it, and it loads Rockbox, plays songs, but the battery was drained almost totally!
I mean, before i had the first crash my battery level was around the 85%.
And when i charged for about 10 mins, it displayed only 30%...

Any comments? ???

Try resetting by pressing and holding Menu button and Select button simultaneously.

Actually, my first action when the shutdown happened, was the one you mentioned above.
The nano was response less....

Try charging to a full charge and see if you can replicate the problem.

Well, i did so, and the error did not appear again.
Funny issue, though...

I have been searching trough the forums, and i could not find any info about it.

Oh Well...

This problem actually seems to occur from time to time with Apple's own firmware in my experience.
Once iPod charges get low they cease to obey the laws of the universe...
