before you do the "../tools/configure" part, you must run the patch.  

The patch file affects the source files, and then you compile and make the build.

PLEASE, educate yourself before asking such basic questions. IF you want to do development you'll need to teach yourself over and over again. And you should actually *read* error messages -- if it tells "command not found" then it clearly hasn't found it.

Finding those two using wikipedia is really a piece of cake.
