Could ROCKBOX have killed my Nano?
Wargod18:
I have a 1g nano. 2GB i put Rockbox on about a week ago it worked fine now it won't do anything it won't turn on, itunes doesn't recognize it when i plug it in nothing happens. I can't give it to Apple my warranty is done plus the rockbox software is still on there. I was going to put this on my Video but screw that i don't want to lose that also.
Llorean:
Have you tried these EXACT steps (not just some of them, and not just for almost as long):
1) Plug the iPod into your computer.
2) Turn ON the hold switch
3) Turn OFF the hold switch.
4) Hold Menu+Select VERY CAREFULLY WITHOUT WIGGLING YOUR FINGERS for 30 seconds.
Repeat 2-4 about 5 times, just to make sure you didn't wiggle on #4, it's very easy to and have it not work.
Wargod18:
Thank you Llorean it worked do you know what causes that or why it happens? and if it is related to Rockbox at all?
Llorean:
It's a glitch in the iPod itself. It seems to affect Nanos most, and it seems more likely to happen (but not guaranteed) if the battery gets lower, but it will happen to even non-Rockbox'ed iPods.
