Simulator doesn't play audio files
scorche:
Try to apt-get alsa.
Also make sure that there is an adapter listed in VMware for audio.

Sorry to be confusing there, I just tried to make the "apt-get" command a verb in past tense (-'ed'). (Like a pun)
But scorche is right, try to install alsa and configure your VMware to use your audio card.

Still no luck. It only listed 'alsa-base' as the available package for apt-get. Does that still have everything, or is there a newer/better sources file for the updates that would contain a different alsa driver?
VMware is setup to use my audio device/adapter (and has been since I started).
Any other ideas/suggestions? I appreciate the responses so far, and I would really like to get this working right :)

Flake:
Sorry, I have a little bit a similar question. How can I build Win32 version of simulator using VMware with the Debian image provided on this site? Or I should use cygwin?
And I don't have sound either.
Nate!:
Are custom themes/wps showing up also? Doh, this may be off topic. I tried compiling the Gigabeat sim also and it scrolls in Eterm that it's doing everything correctly, but nothing appears visually or audibly except for the Gigabeat background. If that makes sense.
