ID3 Tags?

What version does Rockbox use for it's ID3 tag sorting in the "Database" view mode? I need a good ID3 tag editor that removes all ID3 tags, but keeps the newest version on. Like, mostly all of my songs are either 1.1, 2.2, or 2.3 tagged, and that's a problem with Rockbox because I can't browse certain songs. Any idea where I could get a ID3 tag editor that edits multiple tags and removes certain versions? Any ideas?
