Problem with finding rockbox folder on command prompt
« on: January 23, 2007, 09:26:31 PM »
I have an ipod30g and i have made a folder called rockbox in the root folder of my C: drive. I have inserted the ipodpatcher exe win32 file into it and the bootloader-ipodvideo.ipod into it. Im using the daily build by the way of January 22. But when i type the text into the command prompt this is what happens.

C:documents and settings/ shawn>cd /rockbox
the system cannot find the path specifed

C:documents and settings/ shawn>

So is there something i have done wrong.

Instead of a forward slash (/) use a backslash (\).
That should fix your problem.

You need to use backslashes, not forward slashes.

To this day I still cannot understand why Microsoft decided that they were going to use \ for the directory separator instead of / I hate writing a quick program to do something and then having to remember that \ is the escape character...

Just my 2 cents.

They *had* to use "\" instead of "/" because they'd decided to use "/" for command switches before DOS supported directories.
