Video?
« on: January 22, 2007, 10:07:52 PM »
I'm wanting to stick some movies on my RockBox player.  I think I've figured out how to do that, but what I can't figure out is how to get the DVD on my computer.  Any advice?

Thanks!

Rockbox has nothing to do with getting your dvds to your computer - sorry.

Great that you've figured out getting movies to your player though!

Edit: Spelling...

Please note that in it's current state MpegPlayer (the rockbox video playing plugin for players with color screen) doesn't rebuffer video when the buffer is empty which makes it unable to playback more than a couple of minutes of video that can fit in the buffer (approx 30MB).

Oh, so no full length movies yet?  That stinks.  Thanks for the heads up :)

xlarge:  I know RockBox isn't for getting movies to my PC, but I'm wondering how I can get the movies to my PC using something else.  But no, I know RockBox isn't designed for that.

What xlarge is hinting at is that given it's not a rockbox function, it's not a subject for discussion in the rockbox forums....

We can still help each other out i guess :)

I use Fairuse Wizard http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html to rip DVD's to Xvid. Free and just works.

Of course, I'm asking so I can get the movie back onto my RockBox player, until I found out that I can't put anything very large on it yet.  So I'm not sure how it wouldn't be allowed...

Musicmad:  Thanks a lot, I'll give it a try :)

massiveH:  Yeah, I found that, but none of their "free software" was free, or it just did not work.
