Data Corruption
« on: January 21, 2007, 09:37:42 PM »
I have had data corruption of my rockbox files two times now.  The first time I did a complete format, the second I used disk recovery tools (which then enabled me to delete the corrupted files)

The only corruption occurs with the .rockbox folder, the rockbox.ipod, and some generated files in the root of the device (maybe playlists?).  I make certain to safely remove the device from windows, and those are the only files that are corrupted. I don't know if it's the folder cache option, or maybe my using Menu+Select button to reboot.

Is holding the play button the preferred method to shut down rockbox?
Any ideas on other causes?
Using 30Gb iPod Video, problem occured with Senabs version, and the standard release.

Yes. Absolutely. Menu+Select is like using the hard reboot button on a PC, it's for when nothing else will work.
