What mp3 recorder can timestamp each file?
(1/1)

Howdy, I have owned and frequently use a iRiver H140. It's perfect for what I do except it doesn't timestamp the audio files which is a big downer. I have heard the newer US based ones can but I haven't had this confirmed.
Can people let me know whats out there now that has mic and line in, timestamps and is a generally great unit.
Oh, and if its Rockbox friendly even better of course!
Thanks
Brendan

All players that have an RTC can timestamp recorded files. For instance H300 and iAudio X5 can do that. Before proceeding into buying a new player though I would suggest you have a look first at roolku's RTC mod for H100.
Unfortunately currently the wiki pages are not online so I can just point you to the forum thread: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=7605.0

I have an Iriver H120 that date-time stamps its recordings.
Following the patch and mod information in the HARDWARE forum RTC mod, I added a RTC chip to the H120 (five solder connections) and a RTC patch to Rockbox. The H120 now displays a digital clock on most screens and recordings have the date and time in the filename and in its date-time attribute.

Here is a link to the Wiki page about the mod:

I'm currently running a H120 with the RTC mod and it works great. It is able to time stamp my recordings and all the other nice stuff of having a MP3 player with a real time clock
