Windows XP Can't See H320

(1/2) > >>

dubsauce:
I installed the European firmware (v1.30) onto my H320, to replace the US firmware, and now I can't see the player as a drive in "my computer". I would like to install Rockbox, but obviously can't without transferring the files onto it from my computer!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Febs:
Is it showing up in device manager?  If so, uninstall it there, then disconnect and reconnect it to see if Windows picks it up.

You can also check disk management to see if it is getting assigned a drive letter that conflicts with something else on your system.  If that's the case, you can change the drive letter from within disk management.

dubsauce:
No I can't see it, my computer doesn't even register that the player is connected...I've restarted the computer and player a couple times then reconnected them via USB and I get the same result. The computer can't see the player at all. BOO!

Febs:
Try a different cable, and/or a different USB port.   If you're using a hub, try bypassing it.

Also, make sure that you're using the correct port.  On the H320, you need to connect to the data port, not the media port.

Hi

Had the same Problem. I did the following:

Press NAVI
move to CONTROL
move to USB CONN.MODE
change it from DESKTOP to HUB

now it works ;)
