Thanks for the compliment and testing it out!!
--- Quote ---The only problem I've found is that the font it's using (Chicago, I think) doesn't support Norwegian characters (ÆæØøÅå).

Oops, my English monoglot background is showing through. Sorry about that, I didn't think to test the font (yes it is Chicago) for basic multi-lingual support. Do you have a suggestion for a font that has the same basic character size and weight that supports Norwegian characters?

No should be 2007, thanks for pointing that out.
--- Quote from: Spug on January 22, 2007, 04:59:41 PM ---... It would be a good default theme (especially with the statusbar enabled by default and a font that's more friendly to non-English languages) that'd fit with the style and theme of Rockbox overall.

I'll try it with the status bar enabled. My thinking for not having it on is:
I'm creating the status bar on the WPS screen; I spend most of my time looking at the WPS screen, so the default one isn't needed while making song selections, or changing settings.

I like it the simple, uncluttered look, although you might think about adding "next track" info for the devices with larger screens. Too bad I don't have a color screen :(

I found two that look a lot like Chicago; "xtal-14", which is a little larger (from the filenames I'd guess 14 points rather than 12 ;)), and that seems to cause problems with the WPS (the progress bar outline is above the progress bar), and "Nimbus", which comes in 12 points but still messes up the WPS. So I'm at a loss :/

Look through the font maps on rasher's site (link). They show exactly what glyphs (characters) are supported for each font.

Thanks for checking Spug. I did use nimbus for my port to the iPod mini so that the text would fit above my status bar at the bottom of the screen. I'll take a look at xtal-14.
Unfortunately, any change to the font is most likely going to mean fixing the progress bar outline. Luckily it is an individual image, so I only need to change its 'y' position value in the WPS file.
