(1/1)
sanmelkoto:
I've come to the seventh step of the nano instructions.
This is what i type. (i've tried doing the eighth step and i get the same results)
Calvin-Ngs-Computer-2:~/desktop calvinng$ ./ipodpatcher SanMel KoTO -r bootpartition.bin
This is what I get from the terminal
in response.
ipodpatcher v0.5 - (C) Dave Chapman 2006
This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO
warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Usage: ipodpatcher --scan
or ipodpatcher device [action]
Where [action] is one of the following options:
-l, --list
-r, --read-partition bootpartition.bin
-w, --write-partition bootpartition.bin
-rf, --read-firmware filename.ipod
-wf, --write-firmware filename.ipod
-a, --add-bootloader filename.ipod
-d, --delete-bootloader
"device" is the device node (e.g. /dev/sda) assigned to your ipod.
ipodpatcher will refuse to access a disk unless it can identify it as being
an ipod.
I use a Mac... can anyone help me?
Febs:
You're following the old instructions. Try these:
http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodnano/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-110002.2.3

--- End quote ---
Firstly, "SanMel KoTo" is not a device name. On OSX the device name should look something like /dev/disk2
I'm assuming you've not tried running "ipodpatcher --scan" to try and work out which device you should be using ?
