is anyone up for compiling an emulator simular to pacbox, but that emulates the sound? and mabey could run 6 or 7 other roms? like frogger galaga donkey kong dig dug? well my idea initially would be to somehow alter the pacbox plugin by inserting a menu option such as ..select rom..kind of like the doom plugin does. the doom plugin emulates sound so im guessing in theory, pacbox could too as well as 5 or 6 other roms. so wouldnt that mean while writing the subroutine of ..select rom. there would have to be something that looks for
FROGGER.606
FROGGER.607
FROGGER.608 609 610
FROGGER.DSW
FROGGER.HI
ect ect?

You mean a plugin that just plays the music of the game?

Also, maybe you can come up with a more specific subject for this thread.

I dunno... That would be pretty sweet, even though I can't figure out Pacbox in the first place...

It's still a cool idea. Are you working on it? 'cause if you have a demo, I could test if it works on my ipod video.

Llorean:
Do you have any idea what is involved in doing something like that? Pacbox was an existing Pacman emulator, which is how it ended up ported. To do what you suggested would require finding several existing arcade emulators with GPL compatible licenses.

Doom works because all the different Dooms are in the end the same game. The Gameboy emulator works because they're all the same hardware. For Arcade it becomes vastly more complicated depending on the hardware of each arcade cabinet, plus we don't write the emulators from scratch.

And lastly THESE FORUMS ARE NOT THE RIGHT PLACE FOR FEATURE REQUESTS.
