iriver h10 20GB issues?

Wasn't quite sure where to put this. The unsupported thread seems to be for announcments only. I also didn't want to file bug reports beause the dev of this build seems to be pretty active and as a devoloper my self I understand not wanting the extra paper work for issues you already know about. On top of that These "issues" might be 100% my fault. I am sure at least a few of them are.

First some of the big things.

1. Battery life seems to be really bad, around 3-4 hours. What settings can I change to lengthen my play time. Yes my WPS has images (22 to be excat) EQ is off and all the power saving settings seem to be real low. (HD spindown at 3s etc).

2. The device seems to lock up randomly for no reason. I can not seem to find corelation between device lockupas and anything else. File formats have been diffrent, as have time between lockups. Sometimes it happens in the middle of a song some times at the end. However it does seem to only happen during playback. The uisimulator does not have this issue (it seems). But I don't know how much of the UI sim is emulated hardware,

3. This one has to be my fault. The Database doesn't work all the time. I am wondering what settings would be best to keep this working. for example. I power on the device, wait for it to scan the hard drive (around 30 seconds-ish) it updates the database and then I browse/search for the artist I want. Then I Play their music. lets say an hour in I don't want to listen to that artest anymore, so I go back to the data base and try to search/browse but all I get is "Database no ready" I have tried various things to fix this but the only relibal way to fix it is to power off the device and start it up again. Even update now from the options screen wont get it working.

4. Now sort of a general question. As I understand it the 2nd CPU on this decive is not currently in use. Would useing this CPU increse or decreese battery life.

5. Any word on FM tuner. I know its under devolopment, but I just wondering how close it is. (dont awnser that just being a pesky user)

6. The scroll pad, seems to work better as a 2  button input device. I can not imagen rockbox taking advantage of a position sensitive button. It seems to work great now (save these problems of course)

7. Heres one for ya, I would like to have a custom menu. Have some of the plugins on the menu (like the visualizations (no I am not useing them now)) I would also like to remove some of the menu items I do not use. This is both in the Database search (I think I can change this one but it seems I can only add to it) and the menu that shows up when you press

Just wanted to tac on the fact that WPS customization, although lacking in the margins thing, was very nice. I created my own WPS in a matter of hours. Most of wich was devoted to makeing th images. It was to stick to b&w or text only it would take minuets. The experance of making my own wps was just joyful compaired to some of the skinning I have done in the past (shakes a finger at his blackberry)

Firstly, why did you think this belonged here, if your first thought was for an unsupported thread.

ALL discussion relating to unsupported builds should be in their thread. All of it. Unless you are running the official version of the H10 port, it doesn't belong here.

These are not social forums. They are for discussion and questions relating to Rockbox, not general support for the players that Rockbox runs on.

Specially the line that seems to be "Posts in this forum should be questions that do not seem to fit in other forums" I will repost on that thread. Its not a problem but some of the issues (7, 8, 9, 10 maybe 2, 3) seem to be general issues/ideas with rockbox and not a specfic build.

on top of that there is not unsupported build thread for this build, and your only supposed to make threads if your announcing a build. There-for I have no idea where to stick this. I will not be moving it. Feel free to however. :)
