some help please

ok i got a lot of help from reading other peoples posts but this i cant seem to crack. in the commands, i'm not sure what to replace "[device]" with???.
that is the only problem for now and hopefully the last.

When you run ipodpatcher --scan, it will provide you with a device number.  Use that number.

For future posts, please use whole words, and not abbreviations like 'plz.'  Our posting guidelines require this.

sorry about that. well when i run the command "ipodpatcher --scan" and i don't get a number, but a get a ton of other info(unless the number is 1). i added a picture to this post to help you help me...thanks

Yes you gussed right the device is 1 in your case.

Remove the quotes the brackets and the word device with the number found when you did ipodpatcher --scan.

thanks a lot that worked. but now when i start my ipod it loads up something  that looks like a bios and stays there even though it says that "rockbox loaded". i have been pressing the menu and play to restart the ipod but nothing happens( right now i am just waiting for it to run out of power)

select and menu for reboot press both
play for shutdown press and wait

wont work...now my pc cant even find the ipod. any ideas

update: i can do the menu+select part, but a split sec after it goes to a picture of a battery that wont charge(black part isnt moving)
