bootloader error -1
(1/1)
alternapop:
ipod video 60gig, using a mac...
i followed the instructions and read the other posting about "error -1". Â Â i copied both rockbox-fonts-20070115.zip and rockbox-ipodvideo-20070115.zip to my ipod and unzipped them on the ipod.
this created a folder called "rockbox-ipodvideo-20070115" which contains ".rockbox" and "rockbox.ipod". Â should this folder be renamed to just "rockbox" or does it not matter?
unzipping the font zip didn't create any noticeable files... i'm guessing it created ".rockbox" at the root of the ipod.
upon rebooting my ipod, i get the error -1 dialog and it auto boots into the apple firmware.
what am i missing?
thanks!

nevermind. i copied rockbox.ipod to the root level and it works. i don't think that's obvious per the instructions but i could've missed something.
GodEater:
There's nothing in the manual about *copying* those zip files to your ipod.
You just extract them there.
They should extract to a folder called ".rockbox" and a file called "rockbox.ipod".
Febs:
Read the note in section 2.2.2 of the manual. It expressly says that files must be extracted to the root, and explains what the -1 error means. If you think this is not obvious enough, we would appreciate suggestions as to specifically how it could be made better.
