Simply put: If you want something done, do it yourself. If you want someone else to do it ASK NICELY, rather than complaining about the fact that they haven't done it yet.

The provider of this build is in no way obligated to do ANYTHING, and if you'd shown a bit of respect rather than posting a series of complaints about how the build is useless to you because it doesn't include that patch, maybe people would have responded positively to you.

Your post was deleted because you made use of language prohibited on this forum.

Your post contained inappropriate language. You didn't explain what problems you had, what guidelines you were following for compiling, or anything else. It was a useless post containing little more than some cursing and a "I tried but something went wrong."

If you'd actually, say, posted in the Compiling forum with "I got this error message, can anyone help me" you might've gotten help. Saying "I tried, didn't ask for help, gave up, and now you should do it for me, and by the way you're a jerk" is not going to win you any friends here.

What page are you referring to that links to the setup.ini? Are you using Cygwin or VMWare? What "rockbox addons" are you talking about, as there's nothing officially called that?

Do you see how your post doesn't explain ANYTHING useful?

I compile my own build daily, and I've just checked that *everything* necessary to compile a build is currently available, at least if you choose the VMWare method. You can.

um ok let me step by step explain it
1. install CVS
2. follow thru the steps untill i get to the part where it says:select a mirror
http:/www.rockbox.org
i did that. then it says:add a user url...http://download.rockbox.org/cygwin/
did that :) ERROR: url...http://download.rockbox.org/cygwin/ setup.ini can not be found ;)

So, you mean "Install Cygwin" not "Install CVS"

You might want to try http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/VMwareDevelopmentPlatform instead. It's somewhat more reliable, compiles faster. It takes up more HD space though.

http://download.rockbox.org/cygwin/setup.ini is definitely still present, so the file is there. I'm not sure why your attempts aren't working. Why is there a space after the last / in your message above?
