How to Apply iPod MPEG Player Patch?

Hi,

I just installed Rockbox on my 30GB 5.5 Generation Black iPod with Video and got the MPEG player working with the demo video, Elephant's Dream. However, framerate is horrible and I saw in the Wiki that there is a patch. However, I do not know how to apply this patch in Windows XP (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/5755). How would I do that?

EDIT: !!! No way I am able have time do all of that. Oh well.
When the RockBox guys figure out how to use the coprocessor and include it in a daily bulid, THAT's when I'll permanently switch to RockBox :P Until then, they deserve congrats for even getting this far.

Well, when it actually functions well, it'll get included in the official builds.

Patching is NOT for the casual user.

Or download an unofficial build that contains the patch. ;)

Examples include mine and Psyuio's.

Cool, I just checked out your build Senab and must say it is awesome. I love the brightness and CPU patches. However, as much as I love your custom firmware, it does currently have it's bugs which is why I am going to go back to the original Rockbox firmware for now. Thanks though and mabey if you work those bugs out (specifically the exiting sound menu bug), I might try out your custom Rockbox firmware again. Thanks though and great work so far on it! :D

Hey Senab. I love your build and I've been using it for a long time. Does the MPEG player work good? Like is it quite laggy? I tried putting an .mpg video on the iPod and viewed it, and it was really laggy. Any ideas?

You've got to reconvert the video to fit your screen size; then it won't be laggy anymore.
