Trouble installing Fontforge in Debian 3.7

(1/1)

iPodFoo:
Has anyone managed to install fontforge in the new debian 3.7 image provided on the wiki? I cant seem to get it to install. I really need to be able to make/edit fonts for my themes.

This is what I get:

--- Code: ---debian:/home/user# apt-get install fontforge
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
fontforge: Depends: libice6 (>= 1:1.0.0) but 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages
debian:/home/user#
--- End code ---

Have tried apt-get update and apt-get upgrade as well.

Help much appreciated.

DanManners:
Just to let you know...umm, this should be in "General"

scorche:
Not really.  It is about customizing fonts, so it is perfectly valid here.

However, it is about a program other than Rockbox, and as such, shouldn't be asked here and should be asked in a Debian help room or something of the type.

Also, as for the "3.7" part, the full file name is Debian-3.7z.  This means that it is our third version of the development image (which uses the Debian distribution of linux) and is a 7zip file.

iPodFoo:
ok. Will ask in a debian forum. I just assumed the debian image provided on this site was configured/optimised for rockbox and not part of the standard releases of debian.

Thanks anyway.
