Database Menus Like Artist and Genre have no voice tags?

(1/2) > >>

Hopefully I am not posting a completely stupid question here.

All of the other menu options all have spoke language tags and dont spell out. However when operating the database it spells out Artists, Genre etc. Am I missing something? Is there someway to fix that?

Thanks!

Llorean:
There is not currently a way to speak it. The database menu is entirely dynamic content without filename associations, and a method hasn't been created for it yet.

It should be possible at some point in the future, I imagine.

Thanks for the update.
If i create a voice tag in the folder of the album will it speak that tag instead of spelling out the album name?
This is using the database.
I loaded the IPod using Itunes which as i understand it pretty much means I cant use the FileView sucessfully as the folders with files in them are not around.

If i did decide to wipe it and load it over usb using explorer where am i supposed to drop the folders of music? Anywhere? Or just create my own folder structure. Thanks in advance.

If anyone could help me here that would great. I have to get this ipod in a fedex box in the next 12 hours to ship to my blind friend. (Whyi am using rockbox).

thanks!

Yeah, you can put it anywhere you want. I personally created a 'music' folder in the root where I put all my media files.

And you can go with the hierarchy (or structure) that iTunes created for you on your main computer, it's pretty efficient.. /artist/album/song is good enough for navigation.

One day, I'm sure the database will be updated to link to voice files. Or better yet, maybe someone will be able to port some text-to-speech engine, who knows?

Good luck :)
