new theme for review

Hi,

I've created my first theme for ROCKbox. I have a 1st gen. Nano, so that is the current target device. I've registered on the TWiki so I can add it to the appropriate WPS gallery page. I'm waiting for write permission. ***granted***

The inspiration for the theme is the Rockbox logo. Comments are appreciated.


ROCKboxed, version 1.0
Icons along bottom: volume, shuffle, repeat all, play, hold/lock, and battery level.

Looks pretty good, I'm guessing lovers of the Rockbox logo will like this. Also, read the rules for posting in this forum- you are not allowed to link to the zip hosted on your site, you need to upload it to the wiki and then link to that.

Anyone, feel free to chime in, but I think this should TOTALLY be a default for the nano, Like, it should come packaged with the CVS. It's an amazingly simplistic theme that really shows rockbox support! I give it a 10/10

Not likely to happen unless it's available in EVERY supported resolution and colour depth, but I do agree that it looks good...

Thanks for all the compliments--especially Mikerman and DanManners!!  

I don't think this theme would be too hard to reformat for other devices.
I even kept this in the back of my mind while designing it. Most of the icons are
solid white, and the ones that aren't have a two pixel wide white border.

I used the uisimulator to do the majority of my testing, and then would copy to my iPod nano for fine tuning.

I can recompile the uisimulator for other devices, and do the majority of the testing on it, but I would prefer to have people with actual devices test it before posting to the wiki gallery. Any volunteers?

Thanks, I have a version for the ipod 4g-color (color/photo?) with the 220x176 screen about ready.  I think this will also work on the iriver H3x0 series without modification.

Good idea, especially on the bigger screens--gigabeat in particular--things are starting to look a little sparse. I had thought about incorporating it before, but didn't want to deal with any copyright/trademark/license issues.

Who does own copyright/trademark for the logo?

Just posted a version for the gigabeat on the appropriate WPS Gallery page
of the wiki.  I also created a new forum post for feed back on this version of the theme.

I have two more versions about ready:
