iPod 80Gb v5.5 questions - RMA it?

Actually I'm not sure I agree.

Once we crack the disk access I fully expect Rockbox to run as smoothly on the 80GB as it does currently on the 30GB.

Fantastic.  This Apple crap is driving me nuts.  Such well-designed hardware ruined by such unusable firmware/software.
