Happy installation on HP140

Davide-NYC:
Happy user here.

I have an iRiver H120, H140, H320 and an iPod 4G.

Happiest with the H1x0 players. Absolutely no complaints there. Happy Happy!  :D  :)

Waiting for the bootloader on  the H3x0 to support charging. Otherwise happy.

The iPod is still a bit immature in terms of codec optimization.

I will probably be picking up a Gigabeat X for the wife and ditching both the iPod and the iRiver H320.

Long live Rockbox.

Just wanted to ask you if i understood: you're using an ipod battery on an iriver h140?  :o

Is it possible? cause my battery seems to have a hard time living more than...well, i don't know exactly how much, but surely not 28 hours!! Plus, iriver's batteries are maybe the worst thing of iriver! As i use my H120 a lot for recordings, it would be useful to me a more powerful battery.
Thanks
Bye

AlexP:
I have an iPod 1G/2G 2200 mAh (stock is 1300 mAh) in my H140 - the battery is slightly thicker, so the fit is snug, but it will fit.

If you use an iPod battery you MUST switch the wires in the connector.  The iPod battery is the opposite polarity to the iriver.

That being said, it isn't hard and you get loads more playing time - I tested mine and when I got bored and switched it off with 15% or so battery left, it was past 25 hrs runtime.

Have a look at the guide on misticriver - it has pictures and everything :)

Just to correct myself: "Plus, iriver's batteries are one of the few negative things of iriver products".  ;D

GodEater:
Just did that battery switch myself, and completed it whilst a bit squiffy from being in the pub too long - so it can't be that hard :)
