Quick question
« on: January 11, 2007, 09:26:35 AM »
Does anyone know of where i can get hold of a Gigabeat? My H340 is dying, and i've realised that going back to stock firmware functionality may kill me STONE DEAD.

I've been hunting around, but they seem to be very tricky to get hold of (I'm in the UK).

Any help would be generously rewarded with pie.

Blimey! I SWEAR i've been checking eBay tenaciously.

Good work though. However, would you like to go for double or nothing pie with two further questions?

1. Any chance of a 60gb one? :)
2. Is there anything significant in RB that doesn't work on the Gigabeat (not bothered about games, video etc.)

How about pie-and-a-half ?

1) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MP3-TOSHIBA-GIGABEAT-60GB-ALMOST-NEW-LIKE-IPOD-PHOTO_W0QQitemZ120072680067QQihZ002QQcategoryZ73839QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

2) Not sure - I'm not a gigabeat owner.

I just got Rockbox on my gigabeat f20 the other day, so far the only annoyance is the slightly confusing UI, other than that, I love it and it does play games pretty well... drains the battery faster though

@jamalarm - you say your H340 is dying.. as an H320 user I'd be interested to know what I'm in for ...

If its battery or HDD there are threads here and on Mistic River about changing them.

Oh no, nothing like that. The headphone socket has become loose and keeps cutting out. I found a fix that involves taking it apart and poking everything with a screwdriver. It worked, but only for a short while, and it's back to cutting out now.

Bear in mind i've had my 340 since late 2003. Its had a good run.

Look, i don't know what you've heard. We had a conversation, pie may have been mentioned in passing. But as we both know, we were very drunk, it had been a long evening. I think we'll just leave it at that.

It's always the same with you people - you promise pie, but when it comes times to deliver it's all "I'm not into commitment - I didn't mean it"

Boohoo hoo hoo.

Please give your posts titles, which _explain_ what they are about, for this post maybe "Where to get a gigabeat". It makes the forums much easier to navigate in!
