doom on gigabeat (where is the patch?)
« on: January 10, 2007, 06:56:00 AM »
shoora has made the doom.rock for gigabeat http://rapidshare.com/files/10761237/doom.rock available on IRC http://www.rockbox.org/irc/rockbox-20070108.txt (10:08:52). It is working very well, but I can't find the patch or source that goes with it.

EDIT:

found it: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/6519

(why did my search for "doom gigabeat" not return that task?)

Where does the .patch file goes?

Where does the .patch file goes?

In the same directory as the source code, and then you "apply" the patch to the source code and after that you have to compile the source code to a executable binary.

No, i can't compile one for you - sorry.

The rock http://rapidshare.com/files/10761237/doom.rock does still work (when copied to /.rockbox/rocks), but I suspect it will get out of sync quickly. Read the wiki page http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginDoom for more instructions about wad files etc.

I'll try to make a build with all the Gigabeat patches once my F40 comes in the mail. If everything works out fine, expect a working quick build by Friday.

I saw that Doom is not working anymore with the new bootloader/rockbox... Is there a patch somewhere?

I think that the patch doesn't work with the newest CVS. (Or SVN, whatever you want to call it) But I did compile Invadrox and Blackjack for the Gigabeat. If anybody wants them, just post here and I'll host them somewhere.

EDIT: There are some errors on lines 503 and 505 in rockdoom.c And because I don't know C, I have no idea what they mean.

Here you go:
Invadrox:http://www.filefactory.com/file/77d71b/

Just put these in you .rockbox/rocks folder
These are untested because I don't have a Gigabeat yet, but they work in the cimpulator.

No problem.

Well Blackjack is in SVN now, no point in my compiled version. I'll try Doom again, maybe I'll get lucky this time.

EDIT: Tried Doom again, it compiled this time, but I have no idea if it works because it doesn't compile for the sim and I don't have a Gigabeat yet. So here it is, feel free to test it and tell me if it works or not. http://www.filefactory.com/file/2343b8/ Once again, put it in you .rockbox/rocks folder.
